ITT Corp. [ITT] yesterday said it has agreed to acquire an airport operation management software platform business from SRA International [SRX] to bolster its new commercial aviation data service.

Terms of the deal, which is expected to close within two months, were not disclosed. SRA’s Airport Operations Solutions (AOS) group has 17 employees and posted $3.5 million in sales for the 12 month-period ending June 30.

AOS’ centrally managed, web-based airport operation management software platform, AirScene.com, provides airport business functions such as revenue, surface operations and noise management.

“The addition of AOS group will strengthen ITT’s business portfolio as we accelerate our commercial strategy for growth in the air traffic management industry,” Dave Melcher, president of ITT Defense and Information Solutions, said in a statement.

ITT recently created a commercial aviation data service to be a single source for nationwide real-time surveillance and flight information that can be combined with other aviation business applications to optimize and streamline operations for airport operators, airlines and aviation service companies.
