ICx Technologies [ICXT] has received a $9 million contract from the Critical National Infrastructure Authority of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for 10 mobile integrated surveillance systems that will include millimeter wave ground-based radar and forward looking infrared/CCTV imaging systems on tactical platforms for deployment around critical infrastructure sites to provide wide area surveillance. Deliveries are slated to be completed by August. The contract is the first with the UAE government although the company had other contracts with royals in the region. It is also the largest integrated surveillance contract for ICx in the Middle East. Last year ICx opened a regional office in the Middle East to support this and other integrated surveillance projects.
