ICE Awards GEO Group Detainee Center Contract

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has awarded a potential five-year contract to The GEO Group [GEO] to continue operating the Broward Transition Center in Florida that is used to house non-criminal immigration detainees. The award has a one-year base period and four one-year options. GEO believes the contract will generate revenues up to $21 million annual at full occupancy, which is 700 beds.
