Under a contract with the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) to demonstrate a commercial capability for launching from sea, The Spaceport Company on Tuesday said it successfully launched a sub-scale hypersonic test rocket on Aug. 31 from a ship in the Gulf of Mexico, opening a new hypersonic test range for customers.
