Following its acquisition of the technical consulting and engineering services firm S.M. Stoller last year, shipbuilder Huntington Ingalls Industries [HII] has created a new company that combines Stoller with its Newport News Nuclear subsidiary that provides nuclear operations and program management services.

Stoller Newport News Nuclear (SN3) will be a full-service nuclear operations and environmental services company, providing the Departments of Energy and Defense with “a one-stop resource,” HII said. Once the restructuring is complete, Newport News Nuclear will operate as a subsidiary of SN3.

“Formation of SN3 is a logical next step in the post-acquisition process of fully integrating our people and capabilities to achieve our business goals,” Pete Diakun, vice president, Energy Programs at HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding division, said in a statement on Wednesday. “This integration will enhance our market competitiveness while preserving the proud heritage of both the Stoller and Newport News Nuclear companies.”
