GAO Says DHS Efforts To Address Port Cyber Security Have Been Limited

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its relevant components cam do more to address cyber security at the nation’s seaports, according to a new report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO). For example, the Coast Guard hasn’t conducted a risk assessment of threats, vulnerabilities and consequences of cyber attacks on the nation’s ports, says the report, Maritime Critical Infrastructure Protection: DHS Needs to Better Address Port Cybersecurity (GAO-14-459).
