DoD, Pratt & Whitney Agree On Sixth Lot Of F-35 Engines

The Defense Department and F-35 engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney reached an agreement in principle for a sixth lot of F135 engines, including the first propulsion systems for international partners Italy and Australia, DoD said yesterday in a statement. The low-rate initial production (LRIP) contract covers 38 total engines, including program management, engineering support, production non-recurring effort, sustainment and spare parts.
