The Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) plans to host an Industry Day in late October for the Human Portable Tripwire (HPT) program. The purpose of the HPT is to increase the opportunity and likelihood of detecting illicit radiological and nuclear material through constant, non-deliberate scans by detection devices that are worn by operators at all times as standard equipment. Another purpose of HPT is to function as personal protective equipment. Goals of the Industry Day include an overview of a subset of current requirements for an HPT device, an overview of intended concepts of operations by potential end users, and an overview of new technologies that could be implemented in an HPT device.
