DIU Seeks AI/ML Tools To Help Navy Converge Data At Maritime Ops Centers

The Defense Innovation Unit last week issued a solicitation seeking commercial artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) solutions for converging data inputs at the Navy’s Maritime Operations Centers (MOCs). The Situational Awareness by Intelligent Learning Systems (SAILS) project is aimed at helping the Navy unify the vast amounts of data coming from different inputs—space-based, shipboard, airborne, intelligence reports, and others—and improve operational management.
