The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) plans to sponsor a new Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) to do system engineering and system development. The Homeland Security System Engineering and Development Institute (SEDI) will help DHS identify and implement technical systems engineering and acquisition best practices in major acquisition program that will ensure fair, efficient, effective, and open competition throughout the acquisition life cycle.
