The engineering and construction firm Day & Zimmermann (D&Z) on Tuesday said it has acquired M2 Services Corp., a small company that provides aviation and vehicle heavy maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services to the Defense Department and other government customers.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. D&Z said that Texas-based M2 expands its existing government operations and maintenance business.
“At Day & Zimmermann, we have a strong history of providing successful O&M services to support the DoD,” Steve Selfridge, president of the company’s Government Services business, said in a statement. “M2 will build upon our global experience expanding the solutions we offer our government customers around the world. Building upon our long history in the MRO market is an important part of our O&M growth strategy, aligning our services with our existing customer base which spans the U.S. federal government.”
M2 is a small disadvantaged business that has more than 800 employees. The company provides aircraft maintenance, ground vehicle and support rebuild and maintenance, logistical support, on-site engineering support, aircraft and automotive painting, and contractor-owned and operated ground vehicle maintenance facilities. Customers include the DoD, Army, Navy, Air Force, the Coast Guard, and other federal and commercial customers.
M2 is on the Navy’s SeaPort-E contract vehicle.
