Curtiss-Wright Corp. [CW] recently said it has agreed to acquire Hybricon Corp. for $19 million in cash, boosting its capabilities in defense electronic subsystems.

“The addition of Hybricon’s electronic enclosure technologies in our overall design and manufacturing portfolio will expand our system integration capabilities and significantly enhance Curtiss-Wright’s ability to provide mission-critical rugged solutions to customers worldwide,” Martin Benante, chairman and CEO of Curtiss-Wright, said in a statement.

Hybricon, which is based in Massachusetts, supplies high performance electronic packaging for aerospace, defense and commercial markets. The company also provides electronic subsystem integration.

The deal is expected to close on June 1. Hybricon had $17 million in sales last year, with 85 percent of that in the defense market.
