Curtiss-Wright Corp. [CW] yesterday said it has acquired Britain-based Specialist Electronics Services, Ltd. (SES) for $22 million adding to its existing recorder product line.

SES designs and manufactures rugged, security encrypted data recorders, processors, display media and software for aerospace and defense applications. The company has 41 employees and expects about $9 million in sales this year.

“The addition of SES’ broad range of commercial off-the-shelf data and video recorder products to our existing recorder product family will further our ability to meet our customers’ requirements,” David Adams, co-chief operating officer of Curtiss-Wright, said in a statement. “We are very excited about the expertise they provide us in data security encryption and high reliability rugged packaging.”

SES’ products are used on fixed-wing, rotary-wing and unmanned aircraft, tactical vehicles and navy vessels.
