U.S. Government Customer Awards Hoverfly $10M for Tethered Drones

Hoverfly Technologies Inc. says it has received a $10 million sole-source contract from an undisclosed U.S. government agency to provide the LiveSky tethered drone, which provides 24-hour, day/night aerial monitoring and communications relay solutions for national defense, intelligence, and homeland security customers. HSR that it has repeat customers with the Departments of Defense, Energy and Homeland Security, and with the U.S. intelligence community. “Hoverfly is honored to have been selected to provide U.S. government operators with enhanced situational awareness, force protection, and communications-relay capability in this lightweight, low-power, and rapidly deployable solution,” Topping said in a statement announcing the award. “This important new technology means that our customers can reduce the user burden and operational complexity of aerostats, plus get enhanced mobility when compared to fixed and heavy telescoping mast-based systems.” The company says the award is the largest from a U.S. government customer for tethered drones to date.

TSA Awards K4 Solutions $9M to Continue with Contact Center Support

The Transportation Security Administration has awarded K4 Solutions a potential $8.7 million bridge contract to continue providing operation and maintenance of the agency’s primary incoming portal for receiving inquiries from employees, the public, industry and other government organizations. The award has a three-month base period and three three-month options. The new bridge contract follows one a year ago to K4 for $7.8 million for continued services for the TSA Contact Center, which responds to a wide range of inquiries such as passenger complaints regarding security screening, questions about security procedures, and more.

North American Security Nabs $26M DHS Award for Armed Guard Services

The Department of Homeland Security has awarded North American Security a potential $26.3 million contract to provide protective security officer services at various locations in Arkansas. The contract is a small business set aside. The award has a one-year base period, four one-year options, and one six-month option.
