The Defense Department’s Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) this month will release the findings and recommendations of a task force charged with helping the department make use of generative AI, paving the way for laying the foundation to scale the technology. Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks in August 2023 established Task Force Lima to assess, coordinate, and use generative AI capabilities across the department (Defense Daily, Aug. 11, 2023).
