CBP Issues RFI for Laser Illuminators

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to determine sources of Enhanced Designators, which are sometimes referred to Laser Illuminators, for a potential purchase. The designators would be used along the land and waterway borders of the U.S. to assist in the detection and identification of items of interest by CBP agents. The systems may be tower mounted along with other sensors to identify targets during nighttime operations and are expected to work in conjunction…
