TSA Issues RFP for Data Extraction Device

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) seeking extraction and imaging tools that will be able to extract and or image multiple data types from multiple storage and mobile devices. TSA’s Focused Operations team performs deployed cyber investigations and provides digital forensics and e-Discovery support for legal and law enforcement cases. The team extracts hidden and deleted data from hard drives, cell phones and GPS devices and other electronic systems. The team is expanding its e-Discovery capabilities and seeks a completely mobile, all-in-one hardware-based solution that will provide complete data extraction capabilities. DHS Issues RFI for HSPD 12 Implementation

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Security Officer, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for the continued implementation of Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD) 12 to support physical access control systems and related technologies requirements. The Office seeks a physical access control system solution to include the utilization of Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card and PIV Interoperable for physical access control, access provisioning and deprovisioning, and biometric technologies to meet requirements for ensuring the security of DHS assets and safeguarding DHS information technology environments. To provide a baseline for its efforts, DHS is gathering information on new product innovations and capabilities available in current, existing state-of-the-art commercial and government products. The intent is to procure an integrated physical access control system and related solutions that support DHS and its components. FBI Issues RFI for Tattoo Symbol Database

The FBI has issued a Request for Information (FBI) on behalf of its Biometric Center of Excellence (BCOE) seeking information from academia, industry, or law enforcement entities related to any current databases containing tattoo/symbol images, their possible meanings, gang affiliations, terrorist groups or other criminal organizations. The BCOE wants to know if there is coordination of data gathering among multiple agencies, how large is the database, if it is shared, how the database is vetted and maintained, and more. Sol. DHS Seeks IT Security Services

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued a Sources Sought notice for a managed service provider to provide support in enabling the DHS Information Technology Services Office, Risk Management Division (RMD), in meeting federal compliance IT security, configuration management, and communications security services.
