*The Transportation Security Administration has put Ahura Scientific and CEIA USA under contract for Bottled Liquid Scanners. Ahura, which is now part of Thermo Fisher Scientific [TMO], was awarded a potential $57.2 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract for its TruScreen system. CEIA’s potential $44.8 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity award is for its EMA-MS desktop system. TSA has not awarded either company an initial task order under the new contracts. Smiths Detection is also under contract with TSA for Bottled Liquid Scanners and is delivering its ResponderR RCI systems under an initial contract.
The Army’s Joint Contracting Command for Iraq and Afghanistan has awarded ICx Technologies [ICXT] a $799,117 contract to provide portable explosive detectors for use in Iraq. Requirements called for 34 devices to be shipped by mid-October.
