*L-1 Identity Solutions [ID] has received a follow-on order from an existing .S. defense agency customer for additional Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) license capacity. The order increases the existing operating capacity of the ABIS system software currently being used by the customer. L-1’s ABIS software is used by the Defense Department for its Next Generation Automated Biometric Identification System.

*SRI International has received a $19.2 million contract from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to develop an advanced analytical system for processing and identification of chemicals in the atmosphere which will provide high-throughput, cost effective, high fidelity identification of chemical constituents. The technology will facilitate rapid, accurate, chemical mapping and reconnaissance. The contract is for Phases II and III of the Panoptic Analysis of Chemical Traces program.

*Implant Sciences [IMSC] has received an $850,000 follow-on order from China for its Quantum Sniffer QS-H150 portable explosive trace detector for use in transportation security and public safety applications in southeastern China. “The continued selection of the Quantum Sniffer by a growing number of Chinese municipalities demonstrates the consistent quality and reliability of our solutions,” says Jeff Tehan, vice president of Sales and Marketing for Implant. Including the recent order, Implant has shipped over 650 units to China worth about $15 million.
