The Army has announced its intent to award three-year sole-source contracts to Chemring’s NIITEK division, Cobham, and L-3 Communications [LLL] to further develop research and development to continue the assessment of  highly specialized handheld technology demonstrator systems that offer the potential to deliver unique and increased capabilities in the detection of explosive hazards at close range. The awards will be made by the Army Night Vision Electronic Sensor Directorate.

eGlobalTech says it has been awarded a contract by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to support the execution of agile development programs across the agency. The value of the award wasn’t disclosed. eGlobalTech, a woman-owned management and IT solutions firm, says its support will help USCIS accelerate time to market, thereby enhancing the quality of the agency’s IT systems.

The Department of Homeland Security has granted Arizona an extension to comply with the federal REAL ID standards now that the state has committed to complying with the standards. Arizona’s commitment leaves just New Hampshire, New York, Minnesota, and Louisiana as the only states that are out of compliance with REAL ID rules and have not been granted an extension by DHS.
