Smiths Detection has received a six month, $2.5 million contract extension from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Protective Service for the continued leasing and maintenance of X-Ray systems. The agency says that 90 percent of its screening posts have Smiths’ X-Ray systems. A follow-on acquisition effort to provide a DHS-wide solution for X-Ray systems is underway.
