Boeing’s Commercial Business Bounces Back In Fourth Quarter; Defense Results Mixed

By Calvin Biesecker Boeing [BA] yesterday swung to a profit in the fourth quarter and sales growth was strong versus a year ago when its commercial aircraft business was impacted by a labor strike and a charge to one of its airplane programs. The positive results were driven primarily by its commercial aircraft unit, which more than doubled aircraft deliveries. On the other hand, Boeing's Defense, Space & Security division posted lower operating earnings due to $133 million in charges…
