Army Materiel Command Leader Fired After Investigation Into Promotion Board Interference

Army Secretary Christine Wormuth has officially relieved Gen. Charles Hamilton, head of Army Materiel Command (AMC), following an Army inspector general investigation into his improper involvement in a subordinate officer’s promotion process. Hamilton’s firing from his role leading the service’s logistics and sustainment efforts was first reported by Military.com, who also published the initial investigation into allegations that the four-star general interfered in the Command Assessment Program (CAP) to assist the subordinate officer in securing a leadership role for which…
