Army Contracts Rockwell Collins to Upgrade Chinook Avionics on Five-Year Deal

The Army has contracted Rockwell Collins [COL] to upgrade the common avionics architecture system (CAAS) on its CH-47F Chinook helicopter fleet. Boeing [BA] is the prime contractor for the CH-47.Under a five-year, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity deal with the Army Aviation and Missile Command Logistics Center, Rockwell Collins will be responsible for upgrades and repair of the CAAS system, which it makes."With this contract, we’re able to upgrade the first generation of CAAS hardware at substantial cost savings to the Army,” said Rod…
