Air Force Awards Lockheed Martin $6.9 Billion Contract For F-22 Modernization

The Air Force said Wednesday it awarded Lockheed Martin [LMT] a $6.9 billion contract for F-22 modernization. Air Force spokesman Ed Gulick said Wednesday the contract includes efforts associated with the planning, analysis, design, development, qualification, test and documentation of F-22 weapon system performance enhancements. The contract also involves lifecycle improvements, operational flight program upgrades and associated efforts essential to accomplishing the F-22 mission, according to Gulick.
