The Air Force awarded Raytheon [RTN] a $191 million firm-fixed-price contract to procure the Multi-Spectral Targeting System Model B (MTS-B) turret and high definition electronic units, according to a Defense Department statement.
The contract, awarded Apr. 20, is also for MTS containers and shop replaceable units, according to a statement. Work is to be completed by Sept. 30 and Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, is the contracting activity, according to a statement.
The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) bought four MTS-B units in March 2011 (Defense Daily, Aug. 17). MTS has been integrated on manned and unmanned aerial systems, such as Lockheed Martin’s [LMT] C-130 fixed-wing cargo aircraft, Sikorsky’s [UTX] MH-60 helicopter and General Atomics’ MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle, according to a Raytheon statement.
