The Air Force awarded Northrop Grumman [NOC] two task orders totaling $8.7 million under the A-10 Thunderbolt II Lifecycle Program Support (TLPS) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract, according to a company statement.
Under the terms of the $4.4 million Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) Legacy IV task order, Northrop Grumman will manage several tasks, including testing and validation of current A-10 flight spectrum data, which can be used to determine A-10 service life and inspection cycles.
Northrop Grumman will also perform work under the $4.3 million ASIP Modernization IV task order, which will involve developing computer-aided design models of the legacy A-10 thick skin wings. Northrop Grumman also worked on prior ASIP Modernization II and II task orders.
“Our ability to capitalize on original equipment manufacturer knowledge and experience from across the corporation coupled with our demonstrated performance on previous ASIP task orders allows us to provide affordable and innovative solutions for these tasks,” Doug Hamel, A-10 TLPS program manager for Northrop Grumman Technical Services, said in a statement.
