White House Picks Heritage Naval Analyst To Lead MARAD

The White House nominated Brent Sadler, a naval analyst at the Heritage Foundation, to be the administrator for the Transportation Department’s Maritime Administration (MARAD) on March 24, according to Senate notice this week.  The administration did not announce the nomination before this public publication. The nomination was referred to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, which oversees the Department of Transportation.  If confirmed, Sadler would succeed Ann Phillips, who resigned earlier this year after serving since 2022.
