Wackenhut Services Inc. (WSI) says the Department of Homeland Security has granted SAFETY Act Designation and Certification for its security and fire services, lowering the liability exposure to both WSI and its customers should a future act of terrorism occur. The designation covers WSI's armed and unarmed security services, specialized security forces--including paramilitary forces that guard Energy Department Special Nuclear Material--and fire protection and emergency response services.
