U.S. Marines Put Kaman On Contract to Reactivate Unmanned K-MAX Helicopters
The Marine Corps’ first two Kaman K-MAX Helicopters arrived at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz., Saturday, May 7, 2016. The K-MAX will be added to MCAS Yuma's already vast collection of military air assets, and will utilize the station’s ranges to strengthen training, testing and operations across the Marine Corps.

Kaman Aerospace [KAMNA] has been awarded a contract to return two United States Marine Corps (USMC) K-MAX aircraft to flight operations. To perform the work, Kaman will transport the two helicopters from Yuma, Arizona, where they are currently located, to Bloomfield, Connecticut, where they will be reactivated to flight-ready status. Designated as CQ-24A, both aircraft served in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom from 2011 to 2013, and exclusively flew unmanned missions.
