Turkey Requests $310 Million In MK 15 Phalanx CIWS Upgrades

The State Department approved a possible $310 Million Foreign Military Sale (FMS) request to Turkey for MK 15 Phalanx Close-In Weapons Systems (CIWS) Upgrades and associated equipment, parts, and logistical support.The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) notified Congress of the potential sale on May 20.The primary contractor would be Raytheon [RTN].The requested FMS would include four MK 15 Phalanx CIWS Block 1B Baseline 2 systems and the overhaul, upgrade, and conversion of 17 MK 15 Phalanx CIWS Block 0 systems…
