TSA Plans To Begin Air Cargo Security Pilot Project Next Month

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) plans to initiate a pilot project in February that involves inspecting cargo bound for passenger aircraft using existing X-Ray and explosive trace detection systems to meet cargo screening requirements imposed by Congress. Recently TSA issued a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for the new cargo security program seeking responses from interested Indirect Air Carriers to volunteer for the pilot project beginning next month.
