President Trump in a directive on Monday directed the secretary of transportation and the Federal Communications Commission to “consider waiving” laws and policies that limit the ability of the Department of Homeland Security to counter drones along the southern border. Section 3 of the president’s order, “Declaring a National Emergency at the Southern Border of the United States,” refers to unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and requires the FCC and Transportation Department “consistent with applicable law, consider waiving all applicable Federal…
