Rheinmetall won an award from the Royal Thai Army to provide air defense technology including four Oerlikon Skyguard systems, three fire control systems, and eight 35 mm Oerlikon GDF007 Twin Guns, the company said Monday.
The company noted the order was worth several million dollars and also includes Rheinmetall’s Ahead airburst ammunition plus additional services.
“For Rheinmetall Air Defence, the Royal Thai Army is another new customer in Asia who introduces a 35mm air defence system. Rheinmetall thus attaches great commercial importance to this recently awarded contract,” the company said in a statement.
