Teledyne Launches Advanced Rad Detector for UAS

Teledyne FLIR Defense has launched its new MUVE R430 drone sensor payload for use on unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) to remotely detect, locate, measure, map and identify radioactive sources and hazards from above. The R430 is based on the same technology and algorithms as Teledyne FLIR’s identiFINDER family of radionuclide identification devices. Teledyne FLIR’s SkyRanger R70 and R80D SkyRaider will be the initial deployment UAS for the R430, which is integrated into the drone’s mission control software and provides visible and audible alerts of radioactivity. The MUVE family of remote sensor payloads also incudes the B330 drone payload to detect biological agents and other airborne biohazards, and the C360 multi-gas detector for use on UAS and robots for real-time continuous monitoring of chemical hazards.
