State Dept. Issues RFI for Facial Recognition Systems

The Department of State has issued a Request for Information (RFI) related to a pending Request for Quotation (RFQ) for automated face recognition systems and possibly other biometric technologies such as iris recognition into the department's visa and passport application processing operations. The RFQ is expected to be releases within a few months, leading to a contract award by October.
