The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) branch, Human Factors Division, has issued a two-fold Broad Agency Announcement for a 4-slap fingerprint sensor module that can eventually be integrated with iris and face capture modules, machine readable zone readers, and user-input capabilities. DHS envisions that the fingerprint acquisition module research and development requires one type of expertise, while the integration with other modalities to create a handheld device may require the sensor developer to partner for that…
