Smiths Detection says it has completed the installation of a range of its security systems for the newly opened Terminal 3 at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, India. The screening systems include Smiths’ Advanced Technology X-Ray and trace detection for screening passengers, carry-on bags and checked bags for explosives, weapons and contraband. The company says the airport has 350 detection systems in place supported by 19 onsite engineers. Morpho Detection also says that it has deployed sixe of its CTX 9400 DSi explosive detection systems at Terminal 3 for screening checked baggage. The deployment marks the first in India to use computed tomography-based screening systems at an airport, Morpho says. Morpho Detection is a business unit of the Safran Group.
