Senate Panel Approves $39.1 Billion For DHS In FY ’14

The Senate Appropriations Homeland Security Subcommittee yesterday approved a $39.1 billion bill in discretionary funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in FY ’14, about $72 million higher than the Obama administration requested and more than $100 million above the amount approved by the House. The bill, which was approved by a 9-2 vote, will go to the full Senate Appropriations Committee for markup this Thursday. The measure was opposed by Sen.
