Senate appropriators are seeking greater oversight of the Pentagon’s planned multi-year contracts for critical munitions, citing concerns with “delays” in awarding deals for the select weapons. The Senate Appropriations Committee’s (SAC) version of the fiscal year 2025 defense bill, approved by the panel last week, would require the Secretary of Defense to provide twice-yearly reports on the status of the department’s six planned multi-year munitions contracts. “The committee continues to closely monitor the progress of these programs and is concerned…
