Savi Introduces Tracking Device that Switches from Satellite to Terrestrial Wireless

Lockheed Martin's [LMT] Savi Technology unit has introduced a tracking device that can switch from satellite or terrestrial wireless systems to continuously monitor the location and condition of shipments anywhere at anytime. The Portable In-Transit Tracking Unit (PITU) device is about the size of a digital video recorder and connects communications among RFID devices, GPS location and SatCom systems, global cellular networks and sensors that detect environmental and security changes.
