SASC Votes Along Party Lines To Advance Defense Secretary Nominee Hegseth

The Senate Armed Services Committee on Monday voted along party lines to advance Pete Hegseth’s nomination to be the next secretary of defense, a source familiar with the process confirmed to Defense Daily. Following President Trump’s inauguration earlier in the day, SASC voted 14-13 to send Hegseth’s nomination to the Senate floor for full consideration.
