Safran Appoints Chief of New MorphoTrust Unit

France’s Safran Group yesterday said that Robert Eckel will be CEO of MorphoTrust USA, a new business unit created through the recent acquisition of the former L-1 Identity Solutions. Eckel joined L-1 in 2008 when it acquired Digimarc’s [DMRC] Identity Systems business, which gave L-1 the lion’s share of the drivers’ license card production for states. Eckel served as president of the Identity Systems business from 2005 until 2008 and eventually became president of the Secure Credentialing division of L-1.…
