Raytheon Delivers Another Anti-Cruise Missile System To Navy

Raytheon [RTN] has delivered the 28th Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS MK 2), which is designed to protect aircraft carriers and expeditionary warships from anti-ship cruise missiles, the company said Monday. The system meets Navy standards on open architecture (OA) and will upgrade legacy combat systems, the company statement said. The SSDS M2 is designed to expedite the detect-to-engage sequence to defend against cruise missiles. The system links and automates standalone sensors and weapon systems to provide the required combat reaction.…
