Rapiscan, Smiths Detection Nab TSA Orders For Second-Gen X-Ray Systems

By Calvin Biesecker The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has awarded task orders to OSI Systems' [OSIS] Rapiscan Systems division and Britain's Smiths Detection for the second generation of Advanced Technology (AT) X-Ray systems to screen carry-on bags at the nation's airports. Rapiscan's task order is for $25.4 million and Smiths Detection's is for $43.4 million.
