Qatar Requests One Early Warning Radar Potentially Worth $1.1 Billion

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) said it notified Congress on July 29 of a possible foreign military sale (FMS) to Qatar of one A/N FPS-132 Block 5 Early Warning Radar (EWR) and associated parts and support worth an estimated $1.1 billion. Raytheon [RTN] would be the principal contractor in the proposed deal. The proposed sale would also include a prime mission equipment package, technical and support facilities, communication equipment, encryption devices, and spare and repair parts, among others.
