The upgraded Self-Protection Adaptive Roller Kit (SPARK), a commercial-off-the-shelf item from the U.K.'s Pearson Engineering Ltd., is now deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J., officials said. Originally fielded to Iraq in March 2007, the SPARK product consists of roller banks that attach to the front of a vehicle, Lt. Col.
