Canada’s Optosecurity Inc. has received a multi-unit order of its OptoScreener system from Bruce Power Generating Station in Ontario, Canada. OptoScreener is an upgrade for checkpoint X-Ray systems, allowing them to automatically detect potential threats such as weapons and weapon parts, and to identify dangerous liquids and gels. The order follows a several month trail of the technology at the facility. “The OptoScreener threat detection capabilities, both for weapons and dangerous liquids, are unique and address yet unsolved critical security issues,” says Pat Shields, program manager at Bruce Power Generating Station. The Bruce Station is the largest nuclear facility in North America in terms of generated power output and the second largest facility in the world.
