Navy Raises Shipbuilding Funding Requirement To Meet Challenge of Building 313-Ship Fleet

By Geoff Fein The next four years will be a challenging time for the Navy as the service looks to buy another aircraft carrier, five surface combatants, 18 littoral combat ships (LCS) and eight Virginia-class submarines, according to the Navy's 30-year shipbuilding plan.
