Navy Looks Into Non-Developmental Landing Ship Designs

The Navy issued a Jan. 6 Request for Information (RFI) notice in an effort to find out the commercial availability of building a non-developmental landing ship at a U.S. shipyard. The notice said it defines this kind of non-developmental vessel as a ship design that is complete and past functional design and under contract to be built or previously built.  The Navy said it specified non-developmental as a product “that requires only minor modifications to meet the requirements of a…
